In order for us to have an AMAZING year of learning and growing, let’s discuss a few policies that’ll help our classroom run like clockwork (and help your child succeed)!
Attendance/Tardiness Policy
“80% of success is showing up” –Woody Allen
Please ensure your child attends school regularly and without tardiness, barring any illnesses or family emergencies. Students tend to learn more fully and understand concepts when they are present and involved in the day-to-day learning going on in the classroom. Our cafeteria doors open at 7:35 each morning that school is in session and the pink/green gate drop-off lines begin moving around then.
If your child has not arrived by 8:00 am, they will be counted as tardy, with 5 tardy offenses resulting in after-school detention. An adult must sign them in using the kiosk system at the front door if they arrive after 8:00 am.
Breakfast Policy
All Krebs students are provided with a free breakfast. Our cafeteria begins serving breakfast at 7:30 am and ends at 7:55 am. Please refrain from sending outside food with students for breakfast as it is not permitted. Therefore, students should either eat before arriving at school or eat the free provided breakfast.
Dismissal Policy
To ensure your child’s academic success, please refrain from frequently taking them out of school early. It is important for your child to be in the classroom, getting every chance they can to learn. School dismisses at 3:25 pm and students will be sent to their designated dismissal area (Pink Gate, Extended Care, or the Walkers Table (which dismisses after all vehicles have left the two pick-up gates to ensure student safety!)). Any students left at their pick-up gate will be taken to extended care, which can incur monetary charges, as per the student handbook.
Homework/Absence Policy
Sometimes students may be asked to complete schoolwork at home, based upon incompletion of work during class. Online work can be accessed anytime, through our Seesaw, as long as they have internet access and their login.
Students who miss class are able to make up any work they may have missed that day. For online assignments, they can, again, access those via Seesaw. For physical classwork (such as worksheets, tests, etc.) a folder will be available to access individual copies for them to complete in a timely manner.
Students will be given 1 day per day of class missed. Ex. if they miss 1 day, they’ll be given 1 day to make up assignments.
